About Vivian Britton

Vivian Britton is an American misanthrope, writer and musician. Fondly known as, "The Enlightened Misanthrope," Ms. Britton brews up a wicked mix of curmudgeonly critiques and social satire on humanity's sad state of affairs. A self-described, "silly person" with dark, irreverent sensibilities, Vivian edits vivianbritton.com, ghost writes, and contributes articles to anyone crazy enough to publish them.

A native of Seattle, Washington, Vivian earned a BA in Music/Fine Arts from the Jesuit run, Seattle University, and began her professional career soon after. A multi-instrumentalist, her knockout performances feature guitar, keys, and vocals in styles from Classic Rock to Jazz. She has accumulated many years of experience in successful groups with extensive engagements on the west coast and Nevada, as well as numerous recording projects. Her work history as both side and front-woman is too exhaustive to list; and, in Vivian's words, "Thank God it's over."

Having traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, and America - Vivian has come to the conclusion that people pretty much suck everywhere. Home is now in a remote, mountain setting far from the herd, where deer, skunk and other non-human animals are the only (welcome) visitors and, occasionally, a captive audience of impromptu performances. A misanthrope's misanthrope, Vivian now splits her time between avoiding sheeple, and writing about how much she hates them.
